There is no limit on the number of applicants from a single institution and it is possible for more than one individual from an institution to be accepted to the Institute. Because the Institute is designed for individual leadership growth and development, team applications are not appropriate. In cases where multiple applicants from the same institution are accepted, every effort will be made to separate them into different cohorts of participants.
Non-tenure track faculty are eligible to apply.
No. Participants are required to attend the entire Institute.
The registration fee for Institute participants includes all Institute activities, single room accommodations for five nights, all meals, and learning materials. Travel to and from the Institute is the responsibility of the participant and/or his/her campus.
All participants are housed in single- occupancy rooms in the Christiane Inn on the Claggett campus. Room features include a queen-sized bed, private bath, linens, side tables, a desk with chair, an upholstered reading chair, bedside table lamps, a floor lamp, heating/AC control panel, towels, shampoo, and soap. The Inn operates as a retreat center, and does not have daily house-keeping in the rooms.
No. The PKAL STEM Leadership Institute is an intensive, fully immersive program that requires participants to remain in residence. Participants’ time each day is comprised of group activities, as well as individual and collective introspection. To that end, all participants are housed locally throughout the Institute.
