The STEM Inclusionary

A Collective Voice Transforming STEM Higher Education

The STEM Inclusionary is a virtual knowledge translation platform that addresses U.S. higher education’s need for a culturally influenced, faculty-driven, HBCU-informed resource for exploring and better understanding effective broadening participation practices. The goal of the STEM Inclusionary is to capture, cultivate, and nurture the unique ways of knowing inherent among our nation’s HBCU STEM faculty; and translate them into meaningful ideas, messages, and practices that can be matched, modified, adapted, or scaled to all institutional settings.

Launched in July 2023, the STEM Inclusionary guides broadening participation scholars and practitioners from all institution types in reflecting on self, combatting the exhaustion of systemic oppression fatigue, navigating the complexities of institutional change, and building on the prior program success of others. Through its rich project- and community-building spaces, the STEM Inclusionary also provides NSF-funded project leaders with opportunities to showcase, promote, and amplify the processes and outcomes of their work to a broad audience.
