Beth Perkins

Assistant Director for Research and Assessment

Beth Perkins, PhD, is the Assistant Director for Research and Assessment in the Office of Curricular, Pedagogical, and Digital Innovation at AAC&U. She provides methodological, analytical, logistical, and implementation support to the AAC&U VALUE Scoring Collaborative. In addition to this work, Beth conducts research, designs and facilitates professional development opportunities, and provides consultation on assessment processes.

Her experience in higher education assessment prior to joining AAC&U includes providing assessment training and resources to assessment professionals, managing and analyzing data, conducting research, and consulting with academic degree programs regarding program assessment as a doctoral assistant in the Center for Assessment and Research Studies at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. She completed a BA and MS, both in Psychology, at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania and a PhD in Assessment and Measurement at James Madison University.

Beth is currently on the Board of Directors for the Northeastern Educational Research Association (NERA), a regional organization that encourages and promotes educational research. Through this role, and various other leadership roles she has held within the organization since 2018, she has contributed to the advancement of educational research, promotion of evidence-based practices, and development of future leaders in the field of education.
