AAC&U is an institutional membership organization. Membership is open to regionally accredited institutions of higher education, college and university system offices, and higher education agencies in the United States, as well as to non-degree-granting 501(c)(3) organizations whose missions are compatible with that of the association. Institutions of higher education outside the United States that are authorized to grant degrees by their national governments are also eligible for membership.
The Presidents’ Trust is a network of higher education leaders committed to advocating for the vision, values, and practices that connect liberal education with the needs of an increasingly diverse student body, a global workforce, and thriving communities. Membership in the Presidents’ Trust is open to all chief executive officers of AAC&U institutional members, as well as chief executive officers of foundations and associations.
While the benefits of membership in AAC&U apply equally to all individuals affiliated with a member institution, enrollment in the Associates Program provides these individuals with additional benefits and access to a network of colleagues and peers at AAC&U member institutions across the country and around the world.
The Independent Affiliates Program provides the opportunity for individuals outside AAC&U’s institutional membership who are committed to liberal education, quality, and equity in undergraduate learning to get involved and become part of the AAC&U community.
