How to Cite VALUE Resources

Please follow the guidelines on this page when citing VALUE resources, which include the VALUE rubrics and the VALUE ADD tools.

General Guideline for Referring to VALUE Resources

When discussing the VALUE rubrics, the "r" in rubrics should be lowercase unless naming a specific rubric (e.g., the VALUE rubrics, the Inquiry and Analysis VALUE Rubric).
Likewise, when discussing the VALUE ADD tools, the “t” in tools should be lowercase unless naming a specific tool (e.g., Critical Thinking VALUE ADD Tool).

Creative Commons License

The VALUE rubrics and VALUE ADD tools are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.

Under this license, you can share and adapt the VALUE tools. When doing so, the following license terms must be met:

Attribution: Give appropriate credit to AAC&U, link to the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license, and clarify if changes to the original were made. Give credit without suggesting an endorsement by AAC&U.
NonCommercial: You may not use the material for commercial purposes under this license, such as those that offer some commercial or monetary advantage. If you are seeking permission for a commercial use, please refer to the “Commercial Use” section below.

Citing an Individual VALUE Rubric

If you cite individual rubrics, use either of the following citations as examples, adjusting the citation for the specific rubric used. These examples are shown in APA and Chicago formats:
