VE/COIL Clinics

AAC&U’s VE/COIL Clinics are a year-round professional learning portfolio for educators and professionals advancing globally connected learning. Each three-week clinic combines asynchronous learning, live sessions, practical resources, and applied activities.

Why the VE/COIL Clinic Series?

AAC&U’s VE/COIL Clinic Series supports educators and institutional leaders in moving VE/COIL from individual practice toward stronger, more intentional, and sustainable implementation.

Whether you are designing your first VE/COIL experience or strengthening an existing initiative, the Clinics provide practical guidance, structured support, and a professional community focused on implementation.

Developed by the Office of Global Citizenship for Campus, Community, and Careers, each clinic combines expert facilitation, collaborative peer learning, individualized feedback, and practical implementation activities that participants can immediately apply within their own institutional contexts.

Participants will:

  • Develop practical implementation plans, tools, and resources.
  • Receive individualized feedback from AAC&U facilitators.
  • Learn alongside faculty and institutional leaders from diverse institutions.
  • Build confidence in designing, assessing, and expanding VE/COIL.
  • Earn AAC&U digital credentials recognizing professional learning and implementation.
Each clinic may be taken independently. Together, the seven Clinics form a comprehensive professional learning portfolio supporting faculty, academic leaders, and institutional capacity for globally connected learning through VE/COIL.

Who Should Participate?

Designed for educators and professionals advancing global learning across higher education.

VE/COIL Clinics are designed for educators and professionals across higher education who support or implement globally connected learning.

Ideal participants include:

  • faculty and instructors interested in integrating global collaboration into their courses

  • instructional designers and educational technologists supporting digital and international learning projects

  • administrators and academic leaders advancing institutional strategies for internationalization at home

  • Career services, employer engagement, student-success, and academic leaders connecting VE/COIL with broader institutional priorities

Institutional teams are also encouraged to participate together, creating shared language, strengthening cross-campus collaboration, and supporting coordinated implementation.

Each clinic is capped at 25 participants to ensure a collaborative, discussion-rich learning environment where participants can share experiences, exchange ideas, and build connections with peers from around the world.

Registration and Pricing

Register for a single clinic or participate in multiple clinics throughout the year. Team and multi-clinic rates support institutions and colleagues participating together.

Registration includes live and asynchronous sessions, practical resources, and an AAC&U digital credential upon completion.
