Rebuilding Trust in Higher Education: From Public Perception to the Campus Experience

Public trust in higher education is under growing scrutiny from policymakers, university leaders, faculty, and the public. Recent initiatives from Yale’s Committee on Trust in Higher Education, AAC&U’s Trust Agenda, Gallup’s confidence data, and Secretary McMahon’s National Call to Action all point to a significant challenge: higher education must rebuild trust in its institutions. But what does it actually take to rebuild that trust? This webinar moves beyond institutional reputation, accountability, and public messaging to examine a frequently overlooked dimension of the trust crisis: the everyday experiences of people inside higher education. The discussion will explore how trust is built—or lost—through relationships among students, faculty, staff, and institutional leaders.

This webinar is co-sponsored by the Alliance for Higher Education and the AAUP Center for the Defense of Academic Freedom.
