Overview
This three-week online AAC&U VE/COIL clinic bridges the gap between technology and pedagogy in virtual exchange course design. Participants will design inclusive, accessible, and sustainable VE/COIL learning environments where technology supports—not drives—collaboration, reflection, and engagement across borders.
Learning Outcomes
Participants will:
- Align technology decisions with intercultural and collaborative learning outcomes.
- Evaluate accessibility, privacy, and infrastructure needs across contexts.
- Design inclusive online learning environments that balance synchronous and asynchronous collaboration.
- Create a sustainable technology-pedagogy alignment plan for VE/COIL delivery.
About the Clinic Series
AAC&U’s VE/COIL Clinics are short, theme-based professional development sessions combining asynchronous learning with one to two live sessions. Participants should plan for approximately 8–10 total hours of engagement over the three-week period (about three hours per week), including live sessions and applied activities. Participants receive an AAC&U-issued digital credential upon completion.
Participants explore strategies, tools, and frameworks to strengthen global learning through virtual exchange and collaborative online international learning (COIL).
