Abstract
The article discusses prominence of the culture of learning of higher educational institutions in assessing students. Topics include conducting assessment of student learning based on actual student work across different learning outcomes; need of analyzing student works using expert judgment through supposedly reliable and valid methods and processes; and role of administrators, faculty, and other educators in creating a culture of learning based on evidence.
