Abstract
The article discusses the importance of resources and community in achieving a quantitatively literate (QL) citizenry for national change in the U.S. He cites the significance of QL in the public, professional, and personal lives of students in which curricular materials and assessment tools are needed. He also notes the arguments of the Project Kaleidoscope (PKAL) which emphasizes the need for teacher-scholars and community to engage in active conversation and innovation for national change.
