Materials Copyrighted by AAC&U
AAC&U reserves all rights to copyrighted materials.
- Permissions for Educational and Other Noncommercial Uses
Permission to reproduce or disseminate materials copyrighted by AAC&U, including content from Liberal Education magazine and other publications and resources, may be granted free of charge for educational and other noncommercial uses. If permission is granted, all reproduced material or content must be accompanied by an appropriate credit line acknowledging both the original source and the grant of permission by AAC&U.
All permissions requests for educational and other noncommercial uses must be sent in writing to [email protected]. - Permissions for Commercial Uses
Permission to reproduce materials copyrighted by AAC&U, including content from Liberal Education magazine and other publications and resources, may be granted for commercial uses—that is, any use primarily intended for commercial advantage or monetary compensation. All reproduced material or content must be accompanied by an appropriate credit line acknowledging both the original source and the grant of permission by AAC&U.
All permissions requests for commercial uses must be made through the Copyright Clearance Center.
Materials with a Creative Commons License
Many AAC&U resources—including the VALUE rubrics, VALUE ADD tools, and some online publications—carry a Creative Commons license. See the bottom of a web resource or the copyright page of a publication to determine whether it carries this license.

AAC&U materials that carry a Creative Commons license may be freely shared and adapted according to the terms specified by the Creative Commons deed. Please consult the deed for attribution and other requirements prior to use. - Permissions for Commercial Uses

Requests for permission to use for commercial purposes materials related to AAC&U’s Valid Assessment of Learning in Undergraduate Education (VALUE) initiative, including the VALUE rubrics and VALUE ADD tools, must be sent in writing to [email protected]. All other requests for permission to reproduce for commercial uses AAC&U materials that carry a Creative Commons license may be sent to [email protected].
