Krista Wojdak

Professor of Instructional Design and Technology, Appalachian State University

Krista Wojdak is a Professor at the Reich College of Education at Appalachian State University. She teaches online graduate courses focused on Learning Design and Higher Education Pedagogy in both the Higher Education and Media, Technology, & Learning Design program areas. She also has extensive experience with designing and facilitating professional development initiatives on a broad array of teaching and learning topics. Before assuming her faculty position at Appalachian State, she served as the founding Director of the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning at Radford University. Her current research is focused on developing an evidence-based framework for active learning, investigating the role of AI in Instructional/Learning Experience Design, trauma-informed teaching strategies, and investigating methods for learner-centered, empathetic course and curriculum design approaches that include participatory, co-design practices. She is a past President and Distinguished Fellow of the International Society for the Exploration of Teaching and Learning, and former Associate Editor of the International Journal for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. She also served as a Faculty Fellow in the University of North Carolina System Office’s Division of Academic Affairs.
