Krista Wojdak

Professor of Instructional Design and Technology, Appalachian State University

Krista Wojdak,PhD, is a Professor at Appalachian State University's Reich College of Education. She teaches online courses focused on Learning Design and change leadership in both the Organizational Leadership & Learning, and Media, Technology, & Learning Design program areas. She also has extensive experience designing and facilitating professional development initiatives across higher education, workforce, and international contexts.
Before assuming her faculty position at Appalachian State, she served as the founding Director of the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning at Radford University. Her career spans over two decades of work in instructional design, facilitative teaching, and institutional development — from university classrooms to organizational and to international consulting engagements.
Her current research focuses on developing a learning design framework focused on AI integration to protect human skills and develop professional competencies. She is a past President and Distinguished Fellow of the International Society for the Exploration of Teaching and Learning, former Associate Editor of the International Journal for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, and former Faculty Fellow in the University of North Carolina System Office's Division of Academic Affairs.
