2027–28 Institute on AI, Pedagogy, and the Curriculum

Institute Goals

The Institute on AI, Pedagogy, and the Curriculum helps teams develop and implement an AI action plan tailored to their institution’s goals and context. Through the institute, you and your team will address the challenges and opportunities of AI in teaching and learning while advancing pedagogical, curricular, and institutional change.

To support the development and implementation of AI action plans, teams will work to

  • articulate a clear, compelling, and communicable purpose for their AI-informed pedagogical or curricular initiative, including goals, anticipated learning gains, student success measures, and benefits for faculty, students, and the institution;
  • create and implement a comprehensive AI action plan with measurable benchmarks for gauging progress and impact;
  • stay informed about emerging AI models, tools, policies, and expectations within the world of work;
  • develop evidence-based theory-to-practice models that connect research and effective approaches to course, curriculum, and pedagogical design;
  • explore and adopt new approaches to assignments, feedback, grading, and academic integrity;
  • identify strategies for successful pedagogical,curricular, and cocurricular change that reflect a deep understanding of AI and account for shifting student demographics, transfer pathways, and inclusive standards for success;
  • articulate thoughtful policies and practices that address ethical concerns and promote equitable outcomes; and
  • use evidence-based innovation and leadership strategies to increase the likelihood of successfully implementing AI reforms.
