Event Overview

The Florida PKAL Regional Network is excited to host its inaugural meeting, which will address… Adapting to the Ever-Changing Higher Education Landscape.

This virtual, one-day meeting will be hosted by Stetson University located in DeLand, Florida.

Why join us?... The Florida PKAL Regional Network is part of a national community of undergraduate STEM faculty and administrators who are committed to ensuring that we are positioned to meet the academic needs of all STEM student and respond to the ever-changing higher education landscape. Faculty from outside of Florida are invited to attend.

Dr Harry Price, Stetson University, will deliver the morning keynote, After the Pandemic: The Role of a PKAL Regional Network. In the afternoon, Dr. Mary Crowe, National Science Foundation, will speak on NSF Funding Opportunities. Learn more about the speakers here.

In addition, concurrent sessions will explore some of the most vexing questions of contemporary STEM higher education reform.

  • What assumptions did the pandemic reveal about teaching online?
  • What do we have to learn from each other and our students about wellbeing?
  • What resources are available to support implementation of our ideas and initiatives?
  • How can we support our adjunct colleagues?

This meeting will lay the groundwork for answering these questions. In addition, you will have an opportunity to establish connections with like-minded colleagues, reflect on your own teaching practice in formal and informal groups, and participate in highly interactive sessions.
