Bildner Family Foundation New Jersey Campus Diversity Initiative

The New Jersey Campus Diversity Initiative (NJCDI) was conceived by Allen and Joan Bildner of the Bildner Family Foundation and organized in 2002 in partnership with AAC&U and The Philanthropic Initiative (TPI). The NJCDI had three overarching goals:

  • Reduce prejudice;
  • Promote intergroup understanding; and
  • Foster the comprehensive institutional change needed to support such learning

In June 2002, eight institutions were selected to be part of the NJCDI:

Bergen Community College
Bloomfield College
County College of Morris
Rowan University
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey
Princeton University
The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey
The University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey

The NJCDI schools received ongoing assistance from AAC&U over the four-year life of the project through three capacity strengthening meetings, consultant site visits, and the dissemination of diversity resources. The initiative ended in Spring 2006.
