Susan Ray

Susan E. Ray, PhD, is an Associate Professor of English and the inaugural Faculty Fellow for AI Integration at Delaware County Community College outside Philadelphia. There, she leads Bridging the AI Gap, a grant-funded initiative that brings structured AI instruction and paid AI tools into first-year composition. The pilot sections have recorded zero academic-integrity incidents and increased student retention. She is the 2026 recipient of the Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching, awarded to one DCCC faculty member every two years. A Victorian literature scholar turned national voice on ethical AI pedagogy, she serves as an AAC&U Faculty Mentor and speaker and an adviser for W. W. Norton's upcoming Guide to AI-Aware Teaching. She has delivered keynotes and trainings on ethical AI integration at more than 25 colleges, universities, and national organizations.
