Joanne E. Goodell

Director of the School of Education and Counseling in the Levin College of Public Affairs and Education, Cleveland State University

Joanne E. Goodell is the Director of the School of Education and Counseling in the Levin College of Public Affairs and Education at Cleveland State University. Her professional interests focus on improving educational and employment outcomes for underrepresented minorities in STEM fields. She has over 25 years of higher education experience, including leadership roles in faculty professional development and curriculum development. She also co-directs CSU’s NSF ADVANCE grant project, “Faculty Leaders Advancing Gender Equity in STEM” (FLAGS), which aims to improve the working lives of women in STEM faculty positions. She has presented workshops on using generative AI in higher education teaching at local, national, and international conferences and has participated in and led a faculty learning community on AI in Teaching and Learning.
