Dolores Duran-Cerda
Former Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Pima Community College
A seasoned educator, Dolores Duran-Cerda has thirty years of comprehensive college-level instructional, administrative, and leadership experience. Duran-Cerda recently retired from the role of Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at Pima Community College (PCC) in Tucson, Arizona, where she focused on student success and community engagement and on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
At PCC, Duran-Cerda oversaw all academic programs, PimaOnline, accreditation, curriculum, assessment, program review, diversity, equity and inclusion, dual enrollment, adult education, faculty qualifications, faculty development and hiring, and the teaching and learning center. She was also the administrative liaison to the college’s faculty senate.
Duran-Cerda has received regional and national awards in teaching excellence and as an outstanding administrator. She earned a Ph.D. in Latin American literature with an emphasis in poetry, and a M.A. in Hispanic literature, both from the University of Arizona. She also earned a B.A. with honors in Spanish, French, and secondary education from the University of Iowa.
