Carter Moulton
Faculty Developer, Trefny Innovative Instruction Center at Colorado School of Mines
Carter Moulton is an educational developer, facilitator, and media researcher. He works as a Faculty Developer at the Trefny Innovative Instruction Center at Colorado School of Mines, where he consults with and designs professional development opportunities for faculty on innovative and human-centered pedagogy. He received his PhD in Screen Cultures from Northwestern University and is a former Graduate Teaching Fellow, Consultant, and Mentor at the Searle Center for Advancing Teaching and Learning. He is also a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, having served as a Teacher Collaboration and Community Service Volunteer in Thailand. Carter's teaching and learning publications include Teaching and Learning Inquiry, the American Society of Engineering Education, and the Journal of Cinema and Media Studies Teaching Dossier. His research on contemporary digital culture and media experiences has appeared in the International Journal of Cultural Studies, Popular Communication, and Communication, Culture and Critique, among other places. Carter is also the creator of Analog Inspiration, a card deck designed to help educators thoughtfully integrate generative AI in ways that center human values, skills, and concerns.
