Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation Fund
We invite members of our community to support AAC&U’s Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation (TRHT) efforts and join us in this critical work to advance quality and equity in higher education in service to democracy.
Your gift to the TRHT Fund will signify your support for AAC&U’s deep and abiding commitment to liberal education and our goal of empowering all individuals to thrive in a just society. Gifts to the TRHT Fund will help ensure that the next generation of strategic leaders and critical thinkers is prepared for and focused on dismantling the belief in the hierarchy of human value.
Initiated in 2016 by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, TRHT is a comprehensive, national and community-based process to plan for and bring about transformational and sustainable change, and to address the historic and contemporary effects of racism. In establishing the Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation Campus Centers, AAC&U seeks to harness our collective intellectual, social, and financial resources to transform words into action as we advance racial equity and healing in our nation.
The effects of racism are evident in the social, economic, and government policies around us and in the places in which we live, learn, work, and play. College and university communities offer a productive space to examine and confront entrenched and often unconscious beliefs created by racism. AAC&U is currently engaged in a multi-year process to implement the first ten TRHT Campus Centers, which will be designed to engage and empower campus and community stakeholders to break down racial hierarchies and create an ascendant narrative about race in their communities. Our long-term goal of establishing 150 TRHT Campus Centers will position higher education at the forefront of promoting racial and social justice.
You may make a tax-deductible gift online to the TRHT Fund at AAC&U. You may also mail a check, payable to AAC&U with the notation “TRHT Fund,” to the Office of the President, AAC&U, 1818 R Street, NW, Washington, DC 20009. Thank you for your support.
