Dates and Times: The Institute runs from Tuesday, July 12 through Friday, July 15. Please plan to arrive no later than 4:00pm on Tuesday, July 12. This will allow time for check-in. The Institute registration desk will open at 12:00pm, Tuesday, in the Regis Hall Multipurpose Room located in Regis Hall. The Institute will officially begin at 5:30pm with an opening plenary session followed by a poster session and light reception. The Institute will run through lunch Friday afternoon, July 15, adjourning between 1:00 and 2:00pm. Also, remember that dinner will not be provided for the duration of the conference.
Location: The Institute will take place at Loyola University Lake Shore Campus, Chicago, primarily in Mundelein Center. We have included a campus map with our building locations and routes marked. You may also access maps at http://www.luc.edu/media/lucedu/lsc.pdf.
Travel to Loyola: All participants are responsible for arranging travel to and from Loyola University Chicago. If you are traveling by air, Loyola is 14 miles from Chicago O’Hare and 22 miles from Midway International Airport. Shuttle and taxi services are available at both airports. We encourage you to contact the taxi or shuttle companies directly to get the most accurate cost estimates.
If you are driving, note that the southern section of the Dan Ryan Expressway (I-94) through the city is under construction and will cause delays. Allow extra travel time, especially during morning and afternoon rush hour times.
Parking: All vehicles on campus must have a parking permit. Conference Services suggest that guests park in one of the university’s parking structures. The cost associated with parking is $7 per day. Parking lot P-1 on the campus map is located closest to Regis Hall, where participants are housed for the Institute. A parking permit for the duration of your stay can be purchased at the Regis Hall front desk. Do make sure to take note of your license plate number which will need to be provided when you purchase a parking permit. The parking permit is a blue tag that can be placed in your car.

Lodging: Lodging is located in Regis Hall on the Loyola University Chicago Lake Shore Campus where the Institute is located. Accommodations include staying at this residence hall on-site where each person gets their own room and bathroom. Each team member should expect a twin bed and linen package for the duration of their stay. A linen package includes a: pillow, pillowcase, blanket, bottom and top sheet, bath towel, washcloth, soap, shampoo and lotion. Towels may not be used outside of the residence halls, and may not be brought to the fitness center; you should bring your own towel for this use. Linen exchanges are provided for guests staying seven nights or more.
No Family Members: If you are thinking of building a family vacation into your travel, you should schedule family time for either the pre- or post-Institute period. The Institute schedule is intensive and does not provide for free time during the day. There are no accommodations on campus for family members nor may they attend Institute events.
Recommended Items to Bring: The following items are not provided, so may wish to bring your own: Alarm Clocks, Fans, Reading Lamps, and Towels for use at the fitness center. Participants may also wish to bring bathrobes and shower sandals. If you need any items in addition to what is provided, we encourage you to bring your own, or ask upon arrival where items can be purchased.
Recreation: Gym services are complimentary. Guests are welcome to use the facilities at the Halas Sports Center and indoor swimming pool. The university does not provide towels or locker padlocks for use at the Halas Sports Center. Guests should plan to provide their own towels and/or padlocks.
Meals: Provided meals include a reception on Tuesday evening July 12 with heavy hors d’oeuvres, and breakfast and lunch Wednesday through Friday (July 13-15). Dinners are on your own. Loyola is conveniently located between two L Train stops on the red line (Loyola Station and Granville Station) to allow easy access into downtown Chicago. Special Dietary Requirements: Any participant who has not indicated their restrictions on the online registration form please email Jasmine Epps at firstname.lastname@example.org with your requirements.
Dress: Dress will be casual to business casual throughout the week. In July, daytime temperatures can reach the high-80s with lows in the high-60s.
Computers and Internet Access: We recommend that each team bring at least one laptop and USB flash drive device for use during the Institute. Each guest will receive complementary Wi-Fi access for one device. All residence halls are equipped with wireless connectivity. In order to connect a laptop to the campus network, a username and password are required. Upon arriving, the conference group will have an assigned username and password that will be created for the conference. Guests may also obtain login information at any At Your Service Desk. Prior to arrival, make sure that all laptops have recently installed all appropriate updates (ex: virus protection software and Windows) in order to register their computer to the Loyola system. There will also be a bank of computers available for guests on both campuses. We ask that you check with the At Your Service Desk for the closest location.
If you need additional WI-FI codes for your devices, these can be purchased at the Regis Hall front desk. Additional codes will cost participants a onetime discounted fee of $5.
Photocopying: We urge you to think ahead and do any photocopying you need to do prior to arriving. Photocopiers are available at the following locations:

Black and white photocopies cost $.15 apiece when purchased with cash. Machines are equipped to accept bills up to $20.00. Copy machines also accept Rambler Bucks. Black and white copies made with Rambler Bucks are $.12 each. Color copies are $.50 regardless of method of payment.
