General Education and Liberal Learning: Principles of Effective Practice

This publication identifies elements common to strong general education programs and examines how they foster essential liberal learning outcomes. The authors also survey changes in general education programs—and in higher education, more broadly—since AAC&U’s Strong Foundations: Twelve Principles for Effective General Education Programs was published in 1994.
