Keynote Speaker
Jennifer Lewis, Professor of Chemistry at the University of South Florida will deliver the conference keynote, “Applied Research for STEM Education.” Dr. Lewis will speak on her work in STEM education research including student learning attitudes and POGIL pedagogy (Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning).
Program Overview
The 2nd Annual OH-PKAL conference showcases the following evidence-based practices:
- Meeting the Needs of Underprepared STEM Students
- Promoting Effective Learning Across Teaching Environments (e.g., lecture, lab, field, community, online)
- Cultivating the Value of Diversity in Science to Attract and Retain Students
- Student Learning Outcomes and Assessment

Registration and Fees
General Registration Fee: $85.00
Professionals with travel support. Fee includes lunch, and materials.
Reduced Registration Fee: $55.00
Students or Professionals without travel support. Fee includes lunch, and materials.
The registration deadline was April 30, 2016.
Housing
Dorm housing is available at Capital University. Single occupancy is $66 per room per night; double occupancy $40 per bed per night, excluding linens (bring-your-own or rent for $20).
