Using Data to Design Products and Practices for a Sustainable World: Preparing Undergraduates for Research and Business Opportunities

Project Kaleidoscope (PKAL), AAC&U’s center of STEM higher education reform, invites the entire PKAL/AAC&U community to participate in the 2015 Spring North Carolina Regional Network Meeting, hosted by Salem College.

This Regional Network Meeting will focus on how institutions are engaging their students in using institutional data or other substantial data sets to explore ways of improving sustainability. Participants will leave the conference with new tools for stimulating and assessing student learning using data as evidence and inspiration for discovering and evaluating sustainable products and practices. Student learning outcomes from these tools will have applications for the classroom, undergraduate research, and business.


The NC-PKAL meeting will run from 9:00 AM until 4:30 PM. Please see the Preliminary Agenda for session topics and presenters.


The NC-PKAL Spring 2015 Regional Network Meeting has been cancelled. Information about future meetings will be posted on the NC-PKAL website.

Complimentary parking will be available in the Elberson Fine Arts Center parking lot. The entrance to the parking lot is at 500 E. Salem Ave. Directions to the parking lot.

Immediately following the NC-PKAL Regional Network Meeting, all participants are invited to attend the 112th annual meeting of the North Carolina Academy of Science (NCAS), March 27-28, 2015 at Wake Forest Biotech Place. A separate registration is required to attend this meeting.
