Part-time Program Assistant for Civic Learning and Democracy Initiatives
The Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U), a national higher education organization committed to improving the quality of undergraduate education, seeks a bright, well-organized Program Assistant to work with the Senior Director of Civic Learning and Democracy Initiatives two days a week.
The Program Assistant will be responsible for helping to manage continuing and special projects, organize project meetings and conferences, perform web program management and research, and provide a modicum of administrative and clerical support to the Senior Director of Civic Learning and Democracy Initiatives.
The person must be able to handle multiple tasks, keep track of and meet deadlines, and work efficiently. The job requires excellent writing skills, attentiveness to detail, and the ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing. The program’s strategic priority is to make civic learning and democratic engagement an expected outcome for all college students through the curriculum, campus life, and campus/community partnership whether local or global. The work is deeply influenced by a national agenda framed in A Crucible Moment: College Learning and Democracy’s Future, published by AAC&U and released at the White House in 2012. This positon is a part-time term appointment through June 2020.
