University California Los Angeles

The 2016 Institute on High-Impact Practices and Student Success will be held in the Sunset Village and Covel Commons at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).  The University of California Los Angeles, founded in 1919, offers a full range of liberal arts studies, professional programs, research programs, and student activities to approximately 43,000 students.  Spanning 419 acres, UCLA is located in the residential area of Westwood and bordered by Bel-Air to the north, Beverly Hills to the east, and Brentwood to the west. Nearby to many of Los Angeles’ most reputable locations, the city is ripe for exploration into American culture and California’s many stunning vistas.

Teams will stay in the Sunset Village at the University of California Los Angeles, a modern style residence hall, which opened in 1992.  Institute meals will be provided in their acclaimed dining facilities, located centrally to the Sunset Village residence halls and concurrent sessions will take place in the state-of-the-art facilities within Covel Commons, also located in the heart of Sunset Village.  Team time, built into this year’s program, will allow participants to meet in an available place of their choice , both on or off campus, to work on their action plan that will be brought back to their institution following the institute.
