Executive Coordinator and Board Liaison

The Executive Coordinator and Board Liaison will be responsible for administrative oversight for the President, Board of Directors, and other programs and projects within the president’s office and within AAC&U. The Executive Coordinator and Board Liaison will support critical administrative functions for the president, board coordination and oversight and special projects for the executive office.


Administrative duties include providing direct support for office workflow to the President. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing assistance to the President in establishing priorities for the office.
  • Oversee office workflow of the assistant to the president.
  • Serving as a liaison between the President and AAC&U staff.
  • Serving as a liaison between the President and external colleagues.
  • Manage the budgets of the Office of the President, including grants.
  • Writing correspondence and reports.

Board of Director duties include the supervising of the planning, organizing, budget for the Board’s events, drafting correspondence, agendas, material, notes, presentations, and disseminating important information.  Duties included, but are not limited to:

  • Working with the President in shaping strategic plan and agenda for all Board meetings.
  • Prepare minutes for the Board meetings, committee meetings, conference calls, and meeting debriefs. Creating and distributing all Board-related materials including meeting notices and details, extensive briefing materials, presentations, minutes, and ongoing communications.
  • Working with President to analyze and assess meetings for continuous improvement in Board effectiveness.
  • Participating in the onboarding of new Board members, officers, and committee chairs.
  • Maintaining strong and productive relationships with diverse staff including the Board and Board Committee Members and their staff.
  • Tracking follow-up items and generating reports and materials as needed.

Special projects. Duties included, but are not limited to:

  • Providing overall coordinator of President’s Trust, Ness Awards, Ascendium, Patricia Cross Awards and Webinars.
  • Assisting with the coordination of the President's fundraising activities (with the membership and sponsorship).


Bachelor's degree; Master's degree in liberal arts preferred.  Minimum 5-7 years administrative experience required, including serving in a supporting role to a Dean, Vice President, President, or CEO. And, Board of Directors. Experience in business writing, editing and proofreading.

Experience using existing technology. Experience with organization skills, attention to detail ability to manage multiple task and accuracy. Experience working with diverse background and multifunctional teams and leadership. Minimum of 2-3 years professional experience on a college or university campus a plus.
