Making the Case for College

Luncheon Keynote Address

Keynote Address
Wednesday January 21, 2015 1:00pm to 2:30pm

The dominant conversation about higher education in our country has become instrumental and utilitarian—a way of speaking and thinking that misses much of what has been unique about the American college since the birth of the institution centuries ago.  While acknowledging the hard realities of the marketplace and responding to the rising pressures for assessment, how can we ensure that America's colleges will retain their value without losing their soul?
