Co-Editor-in-Chief of Liberal Education and Senior Editor, Communications, AAC&U
Emily Schuster serves as co-editor-in-chief of Liberal Education, the magazine of the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U), and also as a senior editor for the association. Schuster joined AAC&U in 2017 as editor of Diversity & Democracy, AAC&U’s former quarterly publication on diversity, equity, global learning, and civic engagement. Previously, she spent nine years as editor-in-chief of Dimensions, the magazine of the Association of Science-Technology Centers, where she regularly highlighted issues in the science center and museum field related to equity, diversity, inclusion, access, education, and public engagement with science and global issues. She previously held positions in publications and education in various museums and cultural organizations in Washington, DC, including Hillwood Estate, Museum, and Gardens; Folger Shakespeare Library; and the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. Schuster holds a BA in English from Johns Hopkins University and an MA in museum education from Tufts University.
