Write for Us
Liberal Education welcomes proposals for both online and print pieces on any topic related to undergraduate liberal education. The magazine’s readership includes college and university administrators, faculty members, academic professionals, and graduate students, as well as foundation officers, policymakers, and media professionals involved in higher education issues. Articles are generally between 600 and 3,000 words. Check out the magazine online for examples of topics and types of articles and essays.
Proposals should be one to two paragraphs and offer a brief summary of the article, noting its main point and giving concrete examples that would be used to support it. Please describe the big takeaway for Liberal Education readers and what experience, expertise, or background makes you a good writer for the topic. We look for unique voice, high-quality writing, good storytelling, and articles that provide different perspectives—from faculty members, administrators, students, community members, and others—on an issue. Please send proposals to [email protected] to the attention of the editor-in-chief, Christen Aragoni. Please allow a minimum of eight to twelve weeks for a response.
