Assessment of Diversity Outcomes
Campus
Diversity Initiative Evaluation Project Resource Kit: AAC&U
and Claremont Graduate University
From the preface: “This document is intended as a resource
guide to aid campuses in designing evaluation plans for measuring
the outcomes of campus diversity initiatives. In an effort
to make this guide user-friendly, it is divided into three
major sections. Part 1 mainly covers tools that engage a broad
range of issues in relationship to campus diversity. Part
2 includes tools that are primarily organized around specific,
targeted diversity issues, and Part 3 covers a wide range
of readings, websites and reports related to diversity and
evaluation. Within each section, instruments and resources
are listed alphabetically according to “source.”
We have included an index at the back of this guide where
you will also find contact information for the sources from
which the tools in this kit were gathered.” This is
a free, downloadable resource developed through the Campus
Diversity Initiative Evaluation Project.
From AAC&U’s office of Diversity, Equity, and Global Initiatives come publications, research reports, and Web links, many of which offer support for developing and assessing work in Diversity.
Many colleges and universities have developed their own rubrics which they use to foster and assess diversity outcomes. Reviewing rubrics from several campuses can help focus local thinking about the range and quality of diversity learning expected:
Emporia State University has a Website about the Multicultural Diversity Assessment Dissemination Project, a multi-campus effort to enhance assessment practice in this area.
