1,300 Educational Leaders Gather in Seattle to Debate These Questions at AAC&U Annual Meeting - Ready or Note: Global Challenges, College Learning, and America's Promise
Washington, DC - January 21, 2009 - Thirteen hundred educational leaders from around the country-- presidents, provosts, deans, faculty members - gathered in Seattle, Washington on January 21st to debate the future of undergraduate education in challenging times. Participants discussed the implications of the latest research on undergraduate education and leading-edge campus innovations at the annual meeting of the Association of American Colleges and Universities.
Workshops and presentations covered the latest research on teaching and learning and the latest campus approaches to such issues as global learning, assessment, general education, the resurgence of liberal education, maintaining academic quality in tough economic times, and the role of environmental sustainability on campus and in the curriculum.
