Project Kaleidoscope (PKAL) — Advancing what works in STEM education

Ramping Up for STEM Success:
Pathways for STEM Student Transfer

Funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation

Overview
Successful transfer of students from 2-year colleges to 4-year programs is critical for their ultimate success in higher education. This is particularly relevant in the STEM fields. In this project, AAC&U and PKAL will plan and execute two national convenings, organized as Action Labs, of selected community college/four-year institution partnerships who are focused on developing effective models for STEM student transfer success. The project is particularly focused on holistic program models that go beyond coursework articulation agreements and build partnerships, programmatic alignment and community.

Project Goal
To elucidate from invited campus representatives the key features of replicable and scalable models for STEM student success, emphasizing general education and entry into STEM baccalaureate programs. Information on these models will be disseminated online and in project reports.
