Integrating Evidence: The STIRS Approach

The Scientific Thinking and Integrative Reasoning Skills (STIRS) framework has been developed, used, and revised as part of the LEAP Challenge leading to capstone and Signature Work. This issue focuses on the AAC&U's STIRS framework, which is designed to guide the development of curriculum in evidence-based thinking. The STIRS project has been developed as an exemplar of integrative liberal education.

The Next Frontier of Writing Pedagogy

This issue builds on and explore implications of findings from the National Census of Writing. It presents an overview of crucial writing frameworks, such as writing across the curriculum.
 
Spring 2017  
Committing to Equity and Inclusive Excellence

Since 1970, bachelor degree attainment among students from wealthy families nearly doubled, but it has barely changed for those from the poorest families. Sponsored by USA Funds, this issue will detail the action plans from twelve institutions for enhancing student success and academic achievement, especially among underserved populations of low-income, first-generation and minority students, as well as adult learners.

Faculty Collaboratives

This issue features the AAC&U Faculty Collaboratives project, which has created a large-scale, sustainable network of resource and innovation hubs and a curriculum for faculty professional learning in and across the ten LEAP States, with outreach to four additional states.
