Diversity, Learning, and Inclusive Excellence

The Association of American Colleges and Universities will host its biennial meeting on diversity, learning, and inclusive excellence on October 21-23, 2010, in Houston, Texas. Titled “Facing the Divides,” the 2010 conference will focus on ways to connect across cultural, social, religious, economic, and political differences that threaten higher education’s work for a “more equitable future.” To learn more about the meeting or the call for proposals (which ends March 15), visit www.aacu.org/meetings/diversityandlearning/DL2010/index.cfm.

National Young Feminist Leadership Conference

The Feminist Majority’s Choices Campus program will host its National Young Feminist Leadership Conference on March 20-22, 2010, at the University of the District of Columbia. The conference will address topics including reproductive rights, women and the environment, and LGBTQ rights. Activities include a Congressional Day of Action where participants connect with their representatives on Monday, March 22. For more information, visit feministcampus.org/leadership

College Women’s Ethical Leadership Retreat

The Woodhull Institute for Ethical Leadership will hold its annual weekend retreat for college women and recent graduates on April 23-25, 2010, in Ancramdale, New York. The retreat is designed to help young women plan for their futures and develop commitments to ethical leadership. Spelman LEADS

Spelman College will host its sixth leadership conference for women of color on May 12-13, 2010. Based on the theme “Building a Community for Change,” the conference will convene a diverse group of women for presentations and discussions geared toward developing multicultural leadership. National Conference for College Women Student Leaders

AAUW and NASPA will cohost the twenty-fifth annual National Conference for Women Student Leaders on June 3-5, 2010, at the University of Maryland–College Park. The conference provides students a chance to network with peers and hear from prominent women leaders, including the recipients of the annual Women of Distinction awards.
