IWPR serves as a resource for advocates, researchers and policymakers
who are concerned about the impact of welfare reform on women.
The Institute prepares briefing papers, fact sheets and technical
assistance that address welfare reform's effect on women. IWPR's
Welfare Monitoring Listserv helps advocates, program administrators,
and researchers across the country stay updated and informed
about welfare.

Women Employed advocates for women's economic and educational
advancement. The Illinois-based organization provides online
tools to help low-income women learn ways to expand their career
options. In addition, Women Employed operates the WE Action
Network, which has helped increase financial aid for low-income
students and prevented an increase to Illinois' GED exam
fee.

The National Center for Single Mothers and Higher Education
at Wilson College offers resources for colleges that are interested
in working with single mothers. The Center also provides information
for single mothers about financial aid, parenting and programs
administered by government agencies. A section dedicated to
mothers' voices includes quotes from recent Wilson College
graduates about their experiences in college.
