Emerging Scholars Award
The American Association of University Women's Educational Foundation
is accepting nominations for the 2003 Recognition Award for Emerging
Scholars. This award honors an untenured woman scholar who has a record
of exceptional early professional accomplishments and demonstrates
promise of future distinction. Nominations due February 10, 2003.
Award winner notification mailed by April 30, 2003. Award includes
$5000 honorarium and travel expenses to the June 2003 AAUW Convention

Courage to Question
The Courage to Question: Liberal Education in the 21st Century, Association
of American Colleges & Universities annual meeting. January 22-25,
2003, Seattle, WA. AAC&U has consistently advocated for liberal education
to broaden students' worldviews and challenge students to live in
an increasingly interdependent world. This meeting will explore the
core values of liberal education and how best to prepare our students.

Celebrate 30 Years of Title IX with WEEA's online Equity
Course
Infusing Equity into Policy and Practice: A Course for Equity Specialists
is an exciting opportunity to participate in an On line course for
equity specialists. The course will explore the history and rationale
for Title IX, review current research on continuing and emerging educational
equity issues, review the basic role and responsibilities of a Title
IX officer and a framework for carrying out these duties, assess the
status of Title IX implementation and gender equity efforts, and explore
strategies for building support and for equity. The course begins
January 27 and ends March 23. Registration deadline January 10. For
