Benefits of membership
Publications
Every campus representative and associate
receives AAC&U's quarterly journals: Liberal
Education, Peer
Review, and Diversity
Digest. These award-winning journals provide a valuable
resource for anyone with an interest in undergraduate education.
Individuals on member campuses also receive discounts on AAC&U
monographs and reports.
Post Job Announcements, Conferences, and Resources
Member campuses may post
information concerning job announcements, conferences,
calls for proposals or resources available on AAC&U's Web
site. The information also gets circulated to more than 7,000
individuals on member campuses who receive our monthly newsletter,
AAC&U
News.
Meetings
Individuals from member institutions can register for meetings
at lower fees and save substantially on team registrations.
AAC&U offers a number of opportunities during the year
for individuals from every sector of higher education to meet
together. Presidents, chief academic officers, deans, chairs,
faculty, student affairs and other administrators, foundation
leaders and higher education policy makers gather at the annual
meeting held each January, attend the series
of working conferences throughout the academic year, and
participate in summer
institutes which provide an opportunity for hands-on work
and in-depth study of a particular area such as sustainable
innovation or general education.
Initiatives and Institutes
Guidance, support, and good models for campus planning are
offered through project
initiatives and summer institutes. The Institute
on General Education provides an opportunity for campus
teams to plan and reshape their own general education programs,
and campus leadership teams come to the Greater
Expectations Institute to advance a specific educational
change project. Member fees for Institutes are significantly
lower, and members have greater access to ongoing information
so that they can apply early.
Opportunities to Become an Opinion Leader
By writing for our journals and Web sites, leading workshops
and meeting sessions, and participating in conferences, campus
representatives and associates help shape the mission
and priorities of one of the nation's leading higher education
associations.
Networking Opportunities
AAC&U is the only national organization that brings together
individuals across higher education sectors, divisions, and
disciplines to focus squarely on issues of student learning.
It provides a forum for campus leaders to connect with each
other and participate in the national dialogue about the purposes
of undergraduate education and the future of the academy.
