Become a Member
Membership in the Association of American Colleges and Universities
(AAC&U) is open to colleges and universities accredited by
one of the regional accrediting organizations in the United
States. State Higher Education agencies and State System offices
are eligible for membership, and qualified non-profit organizations
may apply for affiliate membership. AAC&U's more than 1100
members include all sectors of higher education and are connected
by a common commitment to liberal learning.
How does membership work?
Although membership is institutional, AAC&U works through
individuals. Each member designates several institutional
campus representatives: generally the president, the chief
academic officer, and three faculty members. These "campus
reps" receive AAC&U's three quarterly periodicals, our
monthly e-mail and on-line newsletter and announcements of
meetings, grant opportunities, and other communications from
the Association.
Because membership is institutional, all members of the campus
community--administrators, faculty, staff, and students--can
attend AAC&U meetings, purchase publications, and subscribe
to our periodicals at special member rates.
Associate program
Once an instition has joined, additional campus colleagues
can receive the same benefits as Campus reps, including subscriptions
to all AAC&U quarterlies, by becoming Associates
for just $60 per year.
How much are dues?
AAC&U dues are modest by national standards and are based on a combination of the member's full-time equivalent enrollment (FTE) and its education and general expenditures (E&G).
We invite you to speak with Dennis W. Renner, Director for
Membership (memberservices@aacu.org
