LEAP States Summit 2011
On Wednesday and Thursday, March 2-3, 2011, AAC&U hosted a "LEAP States Summit" at the Westin Michigan Avenue in Chicago, Illinois.
Titled Advancing Systemic Change in States and State Systems, the LEAP States Summit focused on educational reform concerned with raising student success and both strengthening and documenting student achievement of essential learning outcomes. Through a set of interactive working sessions, the Summit identified promising strategies for tackling common problems related to student learning so that AAC&U could be helpful—through the LEAP initiative—in supporting and advancing the priorities of LEAP States.
AAC&U also envisions this Summit as an opportunity for academic administrators and faculty in LEAP States to network with colleagues in other states and regions who are dealing with similar opportunities and challenges in advancing systemic educational reforms centered on student success and accountability.
A final program for the LEAP States Summit can be found here.
Background materials available for download include AAC&U's latest publication, The LEAP Vision for Learning: Outcomes, Practices, Impact, and Employers' Views, and "What Does It Mean to be a LEAP State?"
Participation is by invitation only.
