Campus Action Network (CAN)
The LEAP Campus Action Network provides AAC&U member campuses with the opportunity to participate in a network of institutions who have pledged to work proactively to advance liberal education for all students. The Campus Action Network offers its members tools and resources for improving and assessing students' achievement of essential learning outcomes; strategies for more effective communication about the value of liberal education; and opportunities to learn from other institutions' successful programs and practices. Through the Campus Action Network, AAC&U also seeks to recogrnize and showcase how successfully your campus is delivering on the promise of liberal education.
LEAP Campus Strategy Sessions
Strategy sessions at AAC&U Network for Academic Renewal Meetings and the AAC&U Annual Meeting are designed to advance campus efforts to communicate about and deliver liberal education outcomes to all students. Informational sessions are open to all interested participants. Special sessions are also available for individuals from Campus Action Network schools.
Liberal Education Outcomes: A Preliminary Report on Student Achievement in College (pdf)
This report is designed to provide an overview of national data on the importance of liberal education outcomes and how well college students are achieving these outcomes. It is designed to generate dialogue and spur implementation of more systematic ways to measure student learning outcomes across the curriculum and at incoming, milestone, and capstone levels.

Business Leaders Surveys
New (January 2008) business leader poll, "How Should Colleges Assess And Improve Student Learning? Employers' Views on the Accountability Challenge." Download the report (pdf) or view the powerpoint presentation of the results.
Findings from the 2007 survey, suggest that 2/3 of employers say graduates lack essential skills and that 76 percent endorse a liberal education that provides broad knowledge and skills, specific skills appropriate for chosen fields, and real-world applications.
