Total Number of Respondents from Associates Degree Granting Institutions: 109
Total Number of Respondents from Bachelors Degree Granting Institutions: 155
Total Number of Respondents from Masters Level Institutions: 174
Total Number of Respondents from Doctoral and Research Universities: 90
Total Number of "Other" Respondents: 15

Of the survey respondents, 62% (340 total) either have a diversity requirement or are in the process of developing one.
Of the survey respondents, 54% (295 total) have a diversity requirement.
Of the survey respondents, 8% (45 total) are in the process of developing a requirement.

32% of those responding from AA institutions have requirements.
58% of those responding from BA institutions have requirements.
63% of those responding from MA institutions have requirements.
59% of those responding from Res or Doc institutions have requirements.

Of the survey respondents who have requirements, 20% are in the process of revising them.

30% of those with requirements have had them in place for less than 5 years.
45% of those with requirements have had them in place for 5 to 10 years.
25% of those with requirements have had them in place for more than 10 years.

Of those who have requirements, 12% exempt certain students from the requirement.

58% of those with requirements require only 1 course.
42% of those with requirements require 2 or more diversity courses.

Of those with requirements,
83% offer one or more courses addressing diversity in the U.S.
65% offer one ore more courses addressing diversity outside the U.S.
76% offer one or more non-Western cultures courses.

Of those who have requirements, 44% allow students to fulfill the requirement without addressing issues of diversity in the U.S.

Of those with requirements, 17% require a single course with a common syllabus.
Of those with requirements, 67% allow students to take a course among a list of different courses.
12% have a diversity requirement within one or more major.

37% of survey respondents are currently revising general education requirements including their diversity components.

10% of survey respondents are currently revising general education requirements, but are not reviewing or contemplating a diversity component.
