Program Start-Up Grants: University of North Florida

University of North Florida
"Taking it to the Streets: Investigating Social Problems and Improving Student Outcomes through Community-Based Research"
Objective: To develop, support, and sustain a Freshman Interest Group course cluster to improve student learning and well-being through hands-on community-based research and engagement. Students will enroll in a combined Social Problems and Freshman Writing class focusing on community-based problems and activities, followed by community-based research on the annual Homeless Census and Survey in Jacksonville.
