Bringing Theory to Practice Project

3rd National Student Conference

Student Voice and Higher Education:
Communicating and Engaging on Campus as a 'Millennial' Student to Enrich Educational Outcomes

October 3-4, 2008
Washington, DC

Call for Proposals

Deadline for submission of proposals: September 19

It is the goal of the 2008 Student Conference that students will inspire one another to promote their own agency and activism on campus.  The BTtoP Project is calling for proposals from college students about a project in which they are currently active, or a project they would like to undertake, where students foster some aspect of liberal education on campus through personal leadership and broad student participation. Students whose proposals are chosen will be asked to give a brief presentation on their project during a scheduled segment of the conference.

While proposals may emphasize any of the three major elements of BTtoP – “engaged learning,” “student health and well-being,” and “civic development,” – priority will be given to those that attempt to integrate the three elements.

The students whose proposals are chosen will be offered a $200 stipend for travel expenses.
