Two National Polls Detail What Students Need to Succeed in New Global Economy
New January 2008 report on findings from a survey of business leaders: "How Should Colleges Assess And Improve Student Learning? Employers' Views on the Accountability Challenge."

A report from an earlier survey (January 2007), “How Should Colleges Prepare Students To Succeed in Today’s Global Economy?" (pdf), suggests that 2/3 of employers say graduates lack essential skills and that 76 percent endorse a liberal education that provides broad knowledge and skills, specific skills appropriate for chosen fields, and real-world applications.
