March, 2003

AAC&U officers and staff regularly travel throughout the country, and occasionally the world, to speak and consult at AAC&U member schools through seminars, institutes, and workshops as well as in more informal gatherings. AAC&U staff also regularly speak on the value of liberal education at various media and public affairs events. These meetings are an opportunity for the membership to influence the direction of AAC&U's initiatives. We look forward to seeing you the next time we are on your campus.

On March 6th, President Carol Geary Schneider will give the keynote address at the Miami-Dade Community College Professional Development Day. On March 25, she will visit Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, where she will give a campus talk and also consult with a campus Task Force on Integrating Liberal and Professional Education.

On March 3, AAC&U Senior Science Fellow Karen Oates will visit Delta State University in Mississippi to work with Science Faculty on courses that follow the Science Education for New Civic Engagements and Responsibilities (SENCER) model.
