AAC&U officers and staff
regularly travel throughout the country, and occasionally
the world, to speak and consult at AAC&U member schools
through seminars, institutes, and workshops as well as in
more informal gatherings. AAC&U staff also regularly speak
on the value of liberal education at various media and public
affairs events. These meetings are an opportunity for the
membership to influence the direction of AAC&U's initiatives.

Alma R. Clayton-Pedersen, AAC&U vice president for education and institutional renewal, was an invited participant in the National Postsecondary Education Cooperative’s “Thought Leaders” meeting on January 8 in Washington, DC, where she discussed student preparation for and success in postsecondary education. On January 26, Clayton-Pedersen facilitated a workshop for administrators, faculty, and staff at Manchester Community College in Manchester, Connecticut. She will participate in the United States Air Force Academy’s fourteenth annual National Character and Leadership Symposium—“All Created Equal: Human Dignity and Respect”—in Colorado Springs, Colorado, from February 22 to 24.
Terrel Rhodes, AAC&U vice president for quality, curriculum, and assessment, conducted a faculty development workshop on curriculum development, inquiry-based learning, and liberal learning principles for students on January 11 at Western New England College. From February 6 to 10, he will participate in an institutional effectiveness team visit in California for the Western Association of Schools and Colleges Senior Commission.
