November 2003

AAC&U officers and staff regularly travel throughout the country, and occasionally the world, to speak and consult at AAC&U member schools through seminars, institutes, and workshops as well as in more informal gatherings. AAC&U staff also regularly speak on the value of liberal education at various media and public affairs events. These meetings are an opportunity for the membership to influence the direction of AAC&U's initiatives. We look forward to seeing you the next time we are on your campus.

On Friday, November 21, President
Carol Geary Schneider will visit the Community College of Philadelphia (CCP) to talk with faculty members and participants in CCP's Leadership Institute. She will also travel to Carlsbad, California on November 23 to speak to the Forum on the Liberal Arts Agenda at the annual meeting of the American Association of State Colleges & Universities (AASCU).

On October 24, 2003, Vice President for Education and Quality Initiatives Andrea Leskes traveled to Charleston, SC, to speak at the American Conference of Academic Deans Conference, Intellectual Leadership in the Liberal Arts. Leskes led a session focusing on links between liberal learning and professional education, as outlined in AAC&U's Greater Expectations report.
