Shared Futures

California State University - Long Beach

Kenneth R. Curtis
Professor of History and Liberal Studies, California State University Long Beach
kcurtis@csulb.edu

Professor Ken Curtis’ academic expertise is in twentieth century African history, though his interest in global and comparative history has led him to put a significant emphasis on research and teaching in the field of World History.  At CSULB, he is a long time member of the International Education Committee, and served for many years on the General Education Governing Committee, and has chaired both of those bodies.  On the national level he is a member of the Executive Committee of the World History Association and serves as the Chief Faculty Consultant for the College Board’s Advanced Placement World History program.  He is co-author of Discovering the Global Past: A Look at the Evidence (Second Edition, Houghton Mifflin, 2003) and of Voyages in World History (Houghton Mifflin, forthcoming in 2006.)
