Board of Directors’ Resolution of Appreciation for the Work of the American Association for Higher Education (AAHE).
On behalf of our members, the Board of Directors of the Association
of American Colleges & Universities (AAC&U) has passed
a resolution of appreciation for the work of the American
Association for Higher Education (AAHE):
"For nearly 40 years, the American Association for Higher
Education has exercised inspired and widely influential leadership
for a more engaged and educationally powerful academy. As
individuals, as campus leaders, and as institutions, we have
all benefited from AAHE's far-sighted leadership on
behalf of such important issues as 'powerful pedagogies,'
assessment as a catalyst for educational focus and improvement,
the scholarship of teaching and learning, new approaches to
faculty roles and rewards, inclusive educational communities,
and the campus as a locus of engaged citizenship.
Higher education has been enriched by AAHE's work for
many years. We thank AAHE and its leaders for their visionary
service and regret the loss of this important and creative
catalyst for change."
